- Surefire, X300U-B Weaponlight. LED 1
This newly enhanced version of the best-selling SureFire X300 Ultra now delivers a stunning 1,000 lumens of LED-generated output focused by a precision TIR lens, creating a far-reaching high-intensity beam – with a larger center spot – that offers the power to positively identify threats at significant distances while temporarily impairing an adversary’s vision. This intense beam also provides extensive peripheral illumination for maintaining situational awareness. The rugged X300 Ultra attaches securely to the Universal and Picatinny rails (fitting more models than ever before) found on most handguns. As always for this best-in-class model, it features integral one- finger ambidextrous momentary- and constant-on switching and can be equipped with SureFire’s optional DG handgun grip switch. This versatile Weapon Light also attaches to the Picatinny rails on long guns and can be activated via an optional XT remote switch that gives you precision control of the light while letting you maintain a proper grip on your weapon.

The price Boresight Solutions had on this light was great. Their shipping was great. Everything about my experience with Boresight Solutions was great. The light itself, not so much. The brightness is very strong. The light body is made of solid materials. The problem is in the mount. It comes prefixed with the universal block, but it was very loose in my Polymer 80 frame. So, I tried the picatinny block. It was only slightly better. The light still jiggled mounted on the frame. This is unacceptable for several reasons, not least of which, is for the cost of this light it shouldn’t be bouncing around. So I read some more reviews and watched some YouTube videos as one does in this day and age. Turns out this is a common problem and the final fix-all solution is to take off the original spring loaded Lever Latch system and put on the spring loaded Rail-Lock system. The Rail-Lock system does eliminate the loose jiggling. The problem is, once you tighten the screw on the Rail-Lock, your weapon light is no longer pointing parallel with the barrel/slide, but actually canted in an upwards direction. So much so that you can easily see it with the slightest glance at the gun. I have read many people online say that it kicks the light so much off center, that it will not fit in holsters made for the gun/light combo. If you want to buy a Surefire X300 – Get the B model with the tried and true thumb screw mount. And shame on you, Surefire, for making such an expensive piece of equipment designed to be used in life or death situations that clearly does not work the way it should. I’ve had a few Surefire products in my time and was surprised at the poor design of this light. I would buy an X300 again but only the B mount model and only after thinking long and hard about some of the cheaper competitors.

Fast response and shipping with an excellent on-line presence to provide tech support and answer questions. The Surefire is extremely bright, tough as nails, and has an excellent beam.
